Jose M. Aldrich

Biography

I live in Chappaqua, New York with my wife, Maty.   We have three boys, Victor, Nicolas and Andrew.  I am a partner with KPMG and work in New York City.

I am the Area Partner in Charge of Tax and Legal Services for the Latin America and Dutch Caribbean Practice of KPMG.  In this role,  I am responsible for operations and strategic direction of the practice.

Professional Experience

I joined KPMG in 1977, in Miami.  The focus of my practice was tax planning and structuring of multinational corporation’s U.S. and foreign operations to maximize cash flows through minimization of worldwide income tax liabilities.  I also served as a resource in the South Florida business unit on tax matters affecting international banks, foreign investment in the United States and U.S. investment abroad.

In 1980, I was transferred as a tax manager to the KPMG tax practice in Caracas, Venezuela where I worked with U.S. companies investing in Venezuela as well as with Venezuelan companies with operations in the U.S. and Europe.  In 1985, I returned to the Miami office and was admitted to the partnership in 1989.  In 1998, I transferred to New York City and joined the Banking and Finance practice until I was given the opportunity to take on my current role in October of 2001.
